![]() Griffin High School 2010 Science Fair Griffin High School held its annual science fair on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Retired science teachers as well as individuals from UGA (Griffin Campus), the USDA, Gordon College and the Griffin-Spalding County School's Enrichment Center served as judges. The students who placed first may qualify to advance to the Griffin RESA 2010 Regional Science and Engineering Fair to be held at Griffin RESA on February 26, 2010. The GHS first-place winners include Maya Basu (Comparing Different Media for Isolation of X. fastidiosa), Allison Waters & Dalton Vining (Insulation Quality), Miles Grier & Dominique Appling (Lights in Action), Taylor Winslow (pH Levels: Which Apple Brand is Most Acidic?), Jed Paz (Use of Natural Antioxidants in Preventing Microbial Disease), Robert Cannon (Microbe Who?), Elizabeth Kwok (A Test for Pollen Viability in Seashore Paspalum), Cleopatra Randolph (What Factors Affect the Strength of an Electromagnet?), Amanda Lynch, Cassie Fetters, & Mira Amin (Musical Plants), and Ariel Blanton (Energy Efficiency of Light Bulbs).
